INNISFAIL - The former United Conservative Party MLA for Innisfail-Sylvan Lake has waived his right to a preliminary inquiry on sexual assault and sexual interference with a minor charges.
Donald MacIntyre was charged in February following a police investigation. He resigned his seat soon after the charges were laid.
At a May 11 court appearance, MacIntyre waived the preliminary hearing and adjourned the case pending the setting of a trial date.
MacIntyre has been released under a number of conditions, including that he not be in contact with anyone under 16 without the presence of the young person’s guardian.
He will be back in court on June 4 for arraignment.
