The local FCSS office is losing a passionate leader.

Megan Cote, FCSS community facilitator, has resigned her position, effective Nov. 22, 2013. She had been employed since Jan. 2, 2013 as facilitator.

“I have been offered another opportunity which will allow me to build new skills,” Cote told the Province. “The timing seemed right, so I accepted the position with McMan Youth Family and Community Services, working with their north offices.”

She leaves her role as community facilitator with many fond memories.

“I have enjoyed my job working with the community in every aspect. Working with our community partners was an amazing experience, and very rewarding,” said Cote. “Spending time with seniors always made me smile, and helping them access needed resources gave me a sense of satisfaction. Building programs for the community was challenging, and always stretched me. Connecting with existing programs in Innisfail made me realize that we have a vibrant, caring community with a heart for our citizens.”

Tammy Oliver-McCurdie, FCSS support services manager, heard about the resignation at the recent Community Partners meeting. “I was shocked. We have worked together so well, and her leadership at Community Partners has been invaluable. I wish her well in her new position.”

Cote is not leaving the community.

“I look forward to the growth of the programs we established and nurtured, and trust they will be sustainable,” she said. “This year we restarted the Snow Angel program, and I really am excited about following its progress with attracting seniors and volunteers in serving those in need.”
