INNISFAIL - The Chinook’s Edge School Division (CESD) board of trustees has approved the division’s three-year capital plan for 2025-28, including a call for modernization of Innisfail High School.
The plan will be submitted to the provincial government for consideration for future capital funding.
The top five projects, in order from first to last are: New Grade 10-12 high school in Sylvan Lake; modernization of the Innisfail High School; new elementary school in Olds; new Grade K-8 school in Liberty Landing in Gasoline Alley; new school in Carstairs or a modernization of Hugh Sutherland school, also in Carstairs.
“Prioritizing projects in the capital plan is based on considerations including historical enrolment trends, current utilization rates, and projected growth,” the division said in a release following Tuesday’s board meeting in Innisfail.
“The full capital plan, including background information about the need for each project, will be posted on the Chinook’s Edge website.”
