INNISFAIL - Hundreds of vehicles and thousands of people packed a portion of 50th Street along with several side streets in Innisfail on Sunday, Aug. 27 for the 2023 Innisfail Kinsmen Car Show.
As of about 1 p.m. on the day of the show, event co-chair Russ Klemmer said 309 vehicles had been registered and more were expected to finalize their entry before the end of the show at 3 p.m.
Last year's event saw just under 300 vehicles entered, he said.
Vehicles on display ranged from motorcycles, trucks and cars to rat rods and a three-wheeled vehicle. There were vehicles from the early 1900s all the way up to present day.
"Some people are just starting their project, others have had them since they were a kid and some are still working on them," Klemmer said.
He guessed that anywhere between 3,000 and 6,000 people had attended the event which was also co-chaired by Alistair Laughlin.
While Klemmer has his own vehicle he could have entered, he said he had no time simply because of all the work that went into the event.
"Alister and I have been working on this for three or four months," he said.
Food and beverage trucks at the show were also kept busy as was the Prostate Cancer Centre's Man Van which offered free blood testing for early detection of prostate cancer.
