Mounties probe downtown sudden death

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit with K Division are investigating a sudden death in Innisfail last night (April 24).

INNISFAIL - Local RCMP and Mounties at K Division  headquarters in Edmonton are not commenting today (April 25) about a sudden death incident in downtown Innisfail last night.

Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Lori Eiler said the sudden death case i is being handled by the Major Crimes Unit from K Division headquarters.

"We don't have any information to release right now at this point," said RCMP Const. Michael Hibbs, media spokesperson with K Division, central and southern region. "The investigation is continuing right now so we won't have anything, maybe until tomorrow."

"We're working with the members there to find out more information and once we have more information, we'll pass it along," he added.

RCMP are expected to release further details when they become available.
