INNISFAIL -  A Rocky Mountain House man is facing numerous criminal charges following a bust near a local park.

Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Lori Eiler said in a media release police officers were conducting targeted patrols on Sept. 20 when they observed a suspicious vehicle located in the Cannon Park area near 37th Street and 49th Avenue

RCMP observed a male reaching into the trunk of the vehicle, said Eiler.   She said police approached the male and determined he was wanted on outstanding warrants and was arrested.

Eiler said RCMP continued their investigation and located a sum of Canadian currency, illegal drugs, and weapons.

Kyle Ronald Vaughan, 34, of Rocky Mountain House, has been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Canadian currency under $5,000 obtained by crime, two counts of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace and possession of a stolen identity document.

Eiler said Vaughan was brought before a justice of the peace and released to attend court on Oct. 9 in Red Deer provincial court.
