The Innisfail Eagles got the job done with a 5-1 victory over the Haut-Madawaska Panthers from New Brunswick in a must win quarterfinal game Thursday night.

The Birds came out hard and opened the scoring halfway through the first period with a goal from forward Darren Reid.

"We knew we had to come out hard tonight. We had to come out physical," said Reid. "Our biggest thing was to play physical on them and wear them down."

Reid scored two goals on the night, with other goals coming from Caylan Walls, Braden Crone and Justin Cox.

The Innisfail Eagles will square off against the Stoney Creek Generals in the first semifinal tomorrow (April 12) in Lacombe at 4 p.m.
