Early morning drug bust
On or about Jan. 16 RCMP members laid a drug possession charge after checking a vehicle for suspicious activity in a parking lot on Woodland Road.
It was approximately 2 a.m. when a 19-year-old Innisfail man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance after he was found with 3.1 grams of marijuana.
Quad stolen from yard
A quad was stolen from a rental property near Pine Lake on Jan. 14.
The grey 2008 Honda quad was discovered missing from a shed. Other items taken include small tools. There was no information on any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the RCMP.
Hitting a moving target
On Jan. 13 a woman driving a four-door Chevrolet Malibu reported an unknown object had been thrown at her vehicle.
The woman was driving on 54 Avenue in a residential area at around 10 p.m. when her car became a moving target.
Tire trouble
Slashed tires were discovered on a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Jan. 16.
The vehicle was parked around 56 Avenue. It's believed the tires were slashed the night before they were discovered.
Frequent false alarms
Police are asking council to consider establishing a false alarm bylaw. Innisfail RCMP received eight false alarm calls between Jan. 13 and Jan. 20.
"People need to take responsibility," said Cpl. A.J. Mand, explaining that 911 calls for alarms take priority and false alarms take time away from other duties.
Mand said the false alarms are coming from both businesses and residences. He said motion alarms can be set off easily by a furnace kicking in, or hanging objects that move.
Broken glass mischief
The front door of the Innisfail Province was reported smashed sometime between the evening of Jan. 15 and the early morning hours of Jan. 16. An employee showed up to work Monday morning to see the glass door shattered. No evidence of how it broke was on scene. Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP.
