Cooler questions
On July 21, a resident on 52 Avenue Close called the Innisfail RCMP because he found two coolers in his yard he was unfamiliar with.
The resident was concerned the coolers could be a bomb. The RCMP attended and found the coolers were empty.
For sale
A complaint was made to the RCMP on July 21 about two quads ripping up and down a back alley near 53 Avenue. The riders reportedly were not wearing helmets.
The RCMP attended and discovered the owner of the quads was selling the vehicles and the riders were potential buyers testing the merchandise.
Long walk
Innisfail RCMP received a complaint about a pedestrian north of Old Pole Road on QEII at 6:26 a.m. on July 26.
Officers attended and found the man, who said he'd left a stag party near Glennifer Lake on foot at 11 p.m. on July 25. He'd had an argument and someone had taken his bank card, so he'd decided to leave.
Suspicious vehicle
A charge of drug possession was laid against an 18-year-old man after a black car was investigated for circling the parking lot at the Bowden Penitentiary on July 23.
A search of the vehicle lead to a small bag of marijuana and a pipe being found in the trunk of the car, which was reported at 5:21 p.m.
Assault complaint
Police responded to an alleged assault on July 24 after a father and daughter were arguing over a phone bill near 53 Avenue.
The father was apparently intoxicated and took a swing with a broom at the daughter, but did not connect.
No charges were laid.
Nothing taken
A break and enter to a storage business was reported on July 25.
The incident occurred between 8 p.m. on July 24 and when staff arrived at the site the morning of July 25.
The padlock on the gate had been cut but it appeared nothing had been taken. None of the RVs being stored at the site showed any sign of being entered.
Drug and impaired charges
A man is facing charges of drug possession, drug possession for the purposes of trafficking, impaired driving, dangerous driving and more after he was reported to the police for speeding on July 25.
That night around 9:30 p.m. a call was received about a black Toyota Pathfinder that was travelling at a rate of about 150 km/h on the QEII near Bowden.
The vehicle and driver were located near the Starlite Diner Car where the vehicle had gone off the road. The following investigation saw a discovery of 11 spit balls of cocaine and hash oil in the vehicle.
The Olds RCMP laid charges against Martin Talbot, 21, in the incident.
Break and enter
A residence on the Penhold Estates was reported as being broken into at 4:44 a.m. on July 27.
The home was entered via a living room window while the residents were sleeping. A dog alerted them to a problem though they did not spot a suspect.
They found a ripped screen and that the seal on the front door was damaged.
Surround sound speakers, a portable DVD player, a Playstation, iPad and cellphones were taken from the home.
The Innisfail RCMP have no suspects or witnesses at this time.
