Jail fight
An assault is being investigated at the Bowden Institution.
The incident leading to the investigation occurred on April 5 at 2 p.m. in the afternoon. Cpl. A.J. Mand said it was a one-sided fist fight with a younger inmate taking on another, much older inmate.
Charges have not yet been laid and are pending depending on the result of the investigation.
Speeding stopped
A speeder that blew past two sheriffs near Innisfail was eventually stopped near Airdrie on April 6.
The driver was heading southbound on the QE II when the first sheriff got a reading of 138 km/h. The driver took off up Antler Hill when a second sheriff clocked the male driver travelling at 197 km/h. The driver did not stop for the sheriffs.
The driver was stopped in Airdrie while travelling at 143 km/h.
Cpl. Mand said Innisfail Integrated Traffic will be laying charges of dangerous driving and failing to stop for a police officer.
Bar fight
One Rocky Mountain House man was charged with assault after an incident that occurred at an Innisfail bar on April 7.
Police say the incident happened between 2 and 3 a.m. and appears to have been a bar fight at the Zoo bar.
Drugs and conditions breach
An intoxicated male was arrested at the Zoo bar on April 5 around 2 a.m. for breaching release conditions which prohibited him from drinking alcohol.
RCMP officers discovered he was also in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
The man was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and drug possession.
Pet theft
A dog was stolen from a yard near 50 Avenue on April 7.
The dog is a Jack Russell terrier and is white with black spots. The pooch is about one year old and is named Racer.
A white truck and a van were spotted in the area where the dog was taken. The theft occurred between 8 and 9 a.m.
Lock your doors
An unlocked vehicle was gone through by a group of youth on 51 Avenue overnight on April 7.
The vehicle was unlocked and the youth took some change.
