Car thieves caught
Three youths were arrested, one after police dog services was called out, on Feb. 25.
A sheriff had run the licence plate of a vehicle that came up as reported stolen. The vehicle took off before the sheriff could initiate a stop. The vehicle was later located in the No Frills parking lot around 10 p.m.
One male and one female, both from Red Deer, were arrested at the scene. A second male was tracked by police dog and arrested later.
A fiery end
A truck was found on fire on Highway 54 on Feb. 24.
The police were contacted at 7 a.m. The Dodge truck had been reported stolen out of Spruce View and was burnt down to nothing, Cpl. A.J. Mand said.
No one was found near the scene.
Bluebird assault
An assault charge was laid against a woman after an incident on Feb. 23.
The alleged assault occurred at the Bluebird Motel at around 11:50 a.m. Police say the assault was minor and the woman has left the room and the area.
Mailbox smash
Three mailboxes fell victim to what appears to be a “big truck with big tires” according to Mand.
The mailboxes were reported smashed on Feb. 23 on Twp. Rd. 360. There are no suspect mailbox smashers.
Vehicle windows broken
On Feb. 27 at the Westwood Trailer Court a Dodge Caravan had its back window broken. Nothing was taken and there are no suspects.
On Feb. 29 a Chevrolet Cavalier outside a residence on 54A Avenue Crescent had its side window smashed. Nothing was taken and there are no suspects.
Thrown, not scrambled
A house on 37 Street was egged on Feb. 29.
The incident occurred at about 9 p.m. The 13-year-old male egg-hurler was located later.
“He was told to go back and clean up,” Mand said.
