Innisfail RCMP are seeking the public's help to nab a pair of knife-wielding carjackers who tricked a Penhold man to give them a test drive.

On Nov. 14, local Mounties responded to the complaint, which took place east of Penhold along Highway 42.

Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Lori Eiler said two unknown males were test-driving a 2004 Subaru Impreza with the 25-year-old owner of the vehicle.

She said the test-driving operator of the Subaru produced a knife and ordered the owner of the vehicle, who was in the back seat, to get out.

Both male culprits, the driver and passenger, then fled in the stolen Subaru.

Eiler said the owner of the vehicle was uninjured, and the Subaru was located later that day in a rural area.

The male driver suspect is described as being in his late 30s, having a brown ponytail tucked into his hat, and wearing a black hat with an RDS sticker, a black leather jacket, blue jeans and white Adidas shoes. He also had a tattoo high on his neck.

The second suspect, the male passenger, is described as being in his late 20s, having light brown hair, wearing a ball cap, Oakley sunglasses and a black Volcom hoodie and jeans.

Innisfail RCMP are requesting any information from the public that would assist police in identifying these two males.

If any citizen has information about this incident he or she is asked to contact Innisfail RCMP at 403-227-3342 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or by Internet at www.tipsubmit.com
