PENHOLD – Local RCMP continue their investigation into a two-vehicle intersection crash that caused extensive damage and the rerouting of traffic for 90 minutes.

At about 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 11, four Penhold Fire Department units and 13 firefighters were dispatched to the two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Hawkridge Boulevard and Highway 2A. Acting Lt. Jessy Rochette said the occupants of both vehicles were treated by arriving EMS at the scene and released.

Rochette added one vehicle was in the intersection with a "large amount” of damage.

"We detoured traffic on Highway 2A at Highway 42 and at Hawkridge Boulevard, until about 3 p.m. when the vehicles were removed and debris was cleaned up,” said fire Chief Jim Pendergast.

He said RCMP are continuing their probe of the crash.
