INNISFAIL – Dancers with Joy’s School of Dance have once again shared Disney magic with the community at the annual Princess Tea.
The event was held June 15, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Innisfail Library/Learning Centre.
The Princess Tea is a fundraiser for the dancers with funds going towards extracurricular conventions or trips.
The June 25th show, which cost $25 per guest, had 10 princesses, and 12 servers who brought guests tea, biscuits and sandwiches.
“It was a chance for everyone to meet and chat with the princesses. It was just to bring Disneyland to Innisfail. It was kind of like when the girls go to Disneyland, and they look to just find the princesses to get their picture with her,” said Joy McIlwain, the dance studio’s owner.
“We had little girl princesses from about two-years-old right up to grandma's attending.”
“It wasn't really a dance performance,” added McIlwain of the annual event. “We had a fair set up so the young girls could get the princesses autographs and they could play games with the princesses.
“We had 10 different tables set up and the princesses wandered and danced. They would pick up the little girl and twirl her.”
