The Innisfail RCMP is asking for the public’s help after a residential garage in Penhold was broken into two weeks ago.
According to police a 16-year-old boy was witnessed allegedly breaking into the garage located on Doronna Place at 5:30 a.m. on June 15. He was described as 5’8”, 140-160 pounds, with short brown hair and a “baby” face. He was wearing a grey hat, black sweater or jacket, jeans and a backpack. A number of other theft-related crimes were also reported in the area during the same time period.
Copper welding wire stolen from Penhold trailer
Innisfail RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in solving a crime where suspect(s) stole copper welding wire from a truck and trailer in Penhold.
The wire, which has an estimated value of $15,000, was stolen from the trailer sometime between June 14 and June 15. Anyone who observed suspicious vehicles or people in the area at the time are asked to call police.
Bus vandalized near Penhold School
Police are looking for suspects after unknown suspects vandalized a school bus parked in a fenced area near Penhold School.
According to Innisfail RCMP, the suspects damaged the bus after getting access to the fenced area of the school, located at 1500 Fleming Avenue sometime between 6 p.m. on June 9 and 6 a.m. on June 10.

Glennifer Lake Resort vandalized
Innisfail RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in finding the culprits who broke into the facility two weeks ago and causing damage by driving a golf cart through the property.
Police said a break and enter occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on June 16. Suspects gained entry by breaking through a side window.
Police said unknown suspects stole about 75 packages of cigarettes with a value of $1,150.
The suspects also removed a golf cart from a resort residence’s parking pad and drove it through adjoining property, causing damage to walkways and a residence’s decking structure. The cart was driven to the edge of Glennifer Lake before being abandoned.

Meanwhile, Innisfail RCMP and the town’s fire department were called out to the lake June 19 to help two people whose boat capsized.
Innisfail Fire Department Chief John Syroid said the call came in at 5:15 p.m. and six fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to the lake’s south boat launch. He said the pair were rescued and brought safely to shore.
