RCMP locate stolen property

 INNISFAIL - While conducting targeted patrols as part of an enforcement project, Innisfail RCMP and members of the Innisfail General Investigation Section (GIS) observed suspicious property located on crown land near Rge. Rd. 25 and Cottonwood road, west of Innisfail on Aug. 28.

Police investigated and have reported that the property was stolen.

Innisfail RCMP, GIS sections (Innisfail and Sylvan Lake) with assistance of RCMP air services, RCMP police dog services, RCMP auto theft, and RCMP emergency response team, conducted further investigations.

Police said they observed a man driving into the area where the stolen property was located, and confirmed the truck he was driving was also stolen.  The emergency response team arrested the man.

Lee Leray Pratt 26, of Red Deer has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, two counts of failing to comply, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and five counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Police said they seized a large quantity of stolen property including quads, a motorcycle, a dirt bike, a generator, an enclosed trailer, four firearms, ammunition and a 2018 Ram 2500 truck.

All rightful owners of the property have been identified and contacted by the RCMP, according to police.

Pratt was remanded into custody and appeared in court August 30.
