Innisfail RCMP is investigating a pair of burglaries over the holiday season.

Shortly after midnight on Dec. 26, there was a break-in at the local Boston Pizza.

Innisfail RCMP Const. Chris Lavery said the north side door was smashed in. He said police responded and noted nothing of value was removed from the business.

Lavery said footprints were noticed outside and the RCMP's canine unit was brought in from Red Deer.

The footprints were tracked by the police dog but the trail ran cold at the Best Western Hotel, said Lavery.

Two days later in the morning Innisfail RCMP were called to Penhold to investigate a burglary at a trailer on a business site.

Lavery said nothing was stolen from the trailer. He said video from the site noted a white Dodge pick-up parking in the immediate area.

RCMP is still investigating both burglaries.

If any citizen has any information about these break-ins he or she is asked to contact Innisfail RCMP at 403-227-3342 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
