RCMP have released a composite sketch of a man they believe is responsible for a series of daytime break-in and enters in Innisfail and other area municipalities.
Between April 17 and May 6 there were reports of five residential break-in and enters that occurred during the day. RCMP describe the suspect as a non-white male, about 35-40 years old, with short dark hair, brown goatee and a slender build.
Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Chris Matechuk said the suspect seems to be targeting random residences.
“It's been no specific area. It's happened all around town here,” he said.
The suspect is also believed to be involved in a number of break-in and enters in Sundre and Olds. He is believed to reside in Olds.
“There's been no level of violence, no one has been hurt,” Matechuk said, adding that there is more of a concern for damage and a loss of property than there is for safety.
Those with information are encouraged to contact Innisfail RCMP at 403-227-3342.
Matechuk also asked that residents take normal security precautions to keep their properties safe.
“This is a reminder for people to be vigilant, to lock their doors, windows and keep in touch with the neighbours to advise them when you are not going to be home,” he said.
