A recent flurry of thefts from vehicle reports have forced local RCMP to issue advice to citizens to prevent others from being victimized.

On Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, Innisfail RCMP received three complaints of theft from motor vehicles, as well as three reports involving stolen vehicles.

Innisfail RCMP Cpl. Don Morrish said the thefts from the motor vehicles included small personal items, small amounts of cash and electronic equipment.

In one instance welding cables were stolen from a work truck. The RCMP are encouraging people to ensure the following, said Morrish.

He advised citizens to remove valuables from vehicles, lock the doors, remove keys, including extra sets, refrain from leaving running vehicles unattended with the keys in the ignition, and continue to report any suspicious activity they may witness.
