PENHOLD - No injuries occurred when the contents of a commercial waste truck caught on fire today.
Shortly after 3 p.m. on July 24, members of the Penhold Fire Department responded to a recycle collection truck on fire in the town.
Acting Fire Lieutenant Jamie Southwell said “the driver noticed the contents on fire but was unable to dump his load. Penhold public works used a loader to help unload the vehicle.”
Fire crews remained on scene for close to two hours cleaning up, a press release stated.
Two fire units and nine firefighters responded and no injuries were reported.
