INNISFAIL – A Red Deer County man is facing several serious Criminal Code charges following a fight at The Zoo tavern.

RCMP Cpl. Troy Savinkoff said at about 8:45 p.m. on Oct. 30 Innisfail RCMP received a report of uttering threats at The Zoo.

Savinkoff said in a media release a police investigation revealed that after getting into a fight at the bar the suspect left and returned with a firearm.

He added the firearm was then pointed at staff and threats were made.

“There were no injuries received by anybody. It was uttering threats,” said Savinkoff.

On Oct. 31, RCMP arrested the accused and executed a search warrant at his residence where multiple firearms were seized, said Savinkoff.

He said RCMP have charged Landon David Aris, 24, of Red Deer County with: pointing a firearm; uttering threats; assault with a weapon; and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Savinkoff said Aris was taken before a justice of the peace where he was released on conditions.

His next court date is set for Nov. 16 at Red Deer provincial court.
