After a two-year hiatus the shootout returns to the annual Weekend of Wheels.

The members of the Innisfail Kinsmen and Kinettes clubs are encouraging the public to bring out their classic muscle car, hot rod, import tuner or daily driver to our 100-foot shootout and show us what they've got!

This is your opportunity to legally race your vehicle on an Innisfail street.

Many people know what a 100-foot shootout is made of, but there is just as many who are unfamiliar with this family fun.

At its root, vehicles run side by side and are timed across a 100-foot distance using electronic timing equipment. Vehicles begin from a standing start and upon the appropriate signal (green light) accelerate as quickly as possible to the finish line.

Vehicles will run three times each to determine their fastest average running time, and these will be used to group them into competing classes. Each class will run in elimination format with the winner progressing in each round until a champion is crowned.

Bleachers will be set up along the drag strip on 42 Street in front of the Arena for spectators to view all the excitement. For safety reasons, viewing of the event is limited to the bleacher area only. This is always great family fun and is an inexpensive afternoon out, as admission is only $5 each with accompanied children under 12 free.

Races start at 11 a.m. We hope to see you all out!
