Sundance Realty & Management Inc. is giving back to the community.

The Innisfail and Area Food Bank recently received a donation from Sundance after a successful charity barbecue held earlier this year.

“We raised over $800 at the barbecue and after a conversation with the food bank, we were advised that they are only allowed to buy food items with donated funds,” said Carrie Black, office manager for Sundance. “We were also told that there is a major need for personal care items such as laundry soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner and other items, so that is what we donated.”

Maureen Hample, food bank volunteer, said the special donation was appreciated.

“The food bank is always in need of personal care items, and those do not always come in. When they do, we are grateful, and it is nice to be able to include items like toilet paper when we can,” Hample said. “Food, funds, or personal items will all be accepted as there is an ongoing need in our community.”

Those interested in applying to the food bank for assistance must bring health-care numbers, proof of residence and income, or pensions/AISH paperwork on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Individuals interested in donating food or funds can call 403-227-0600 for more information.
