SUNDRE/INNISFAIL - Investigation into theft from a Sea-Can in Sundre RCMP's detachment area led police to Innisfail where two people have been arrested on various charges including possession of drugs, stolen property and weapons offences.
Police say a Sea-Can located on 45 Beaver Run Trail was broken into on Feb. 5 and Feb. 7. Multiple generators, assorted power tools and gas-powered tools were reported stolen.
Innisfail General Investigation Section identified the suspect vehicle and suspect from on-site surveillance footage and began an investigation in the Innisfail area, police said in a press release issued today (Feb. 15).
On Feb. 10, police say a search warrant was obtained and executed by the Innisfail RCMP detachment. Two suspects were arrested at a dwelling on Main Street.
"Evidence linking the suspect to the break and enter was seized from the home along with stolen property, two homemade firearms, ammunition, and methamphetamine," police said in the release.
Innisfail RCMP charged Sophia Crumley and Russell Keaast-Crumley with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of methamphetamine, unsafe storage of firearm, possession of an unauthorized firearm and several other property-related charges.
Sundre RCMP have also charged Sophia Crumley with break and enter, mischief and theft in relation to events near Sundre.
Innisfail RCMP say they are still looking for the owner of a red Honda EM5000SX generator, a Honda 2000 generator, and a yellow Fireman 1200 generator, which were recovered during execution of the search warrant.
