The lights of Christmas

The Innisfail Legion was overtaken by bears, and no one was injured.

“Our first annual Christmas Luncheon was very successful,” said Diane Mineault, the chamber's executive director. “ We had a good crowd that included Sylvan Lake-Innisfail Wildrose MLA Kerry Towle, Red Deer County mayor Jim Wood, and best of all, the community of Innisfail won.”

The Christmas Luncheon was held Dec. 20 at the legion from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the winners of the ‘Very Beary Country Christmas'/Christmas Light Up promotion were announced.

A group of seniors judged the ‘Beary Country Christmas/Christmas Light Up' promotion, and had a difficult time judging the 15 entries Dec 17. The winners are:

Best Balcony-Ebba Larsen, 5000 48th St., 4th floor

Best use of theme-Nummie by Mummies Teddy's Christmas Tea Party

Best out of town display-Trevor Brenan, 31 Main Ave., Markerville

A silent auction was held after the luncheon, raising funds for chamber activities.
