INNISFAIL – A pair of Innisfailians are facing serious stolen property and drug offences following a police search warrant seizure at a local residence.
Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Ian Ihme said in a Nov. 25 media release that on Nov. 20 local Mounties responded to a report of theft from a vehicle in Penhold.
Ihme said several items of value, including a rifle, were stolen from the vehicle.
As a result of an investigation, Innisfail RCMP were able to determine the location of stolen property, he said.
Ihme said on Nov. 23 police executed a search warrant at a residence in Innisfail where the stolen rifle, as well as other associated stolen property and methamphetamine were seized.
Megan McLane, 29, a resident of Innisfail, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of Methamphetamine
McLane has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Dec. 16.
Brian Palomaki, 50, a resident of Innisfail, has been charged with:
• possession of property obtained by crime;
• break-in to steal a firearm;
• careless storage of a firearm;
• possession of a firearm without holding a licence;
• possession of a firearm while prohibited;
• possession of a firearm for purpose of trafficking;
• fail to comply with release conditions; and
• possession of methamphetamine.
Palomaki has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Dec. 8.
