INNISFAIL – RCMP are no longer seeking the public’s help to find a Penhold man in distress who left his home in the early morning hours who was first reported as having been in possession of a shotgun.
RCMP Cpl. Deanna Fontaine said in a media release issued earlier today that Calvin Michael Foster, 33, of Penhold, was last seen early in the morning on Oct. 15 at about 3 a.m. leaving his Penhold residence on foot with a shotgun.
"Innisfail RCMP have located Calvin Foster safe and he was unarmed. Innisfail RCMP’s investigation determined that Calvin was not in possession of a shotgun and no firearms had been removed from his residence. There are no further concerns for Calvin’s well-being or the safety of the public in this case," RCMP said in a release issued hours after having first put the public on notice Innisfail RCMP was looking for him.
Earlier in the day, Fontaine said Innisfail RCMP’s efforts to locate Foster were unsuccessful and there were concerns for his well-being.
She said Foster has been known to frequent Red Deer.
Foster was described as five-feet, six-inches tall weighing 149 pounds. He has brown eyes and blonde hair.
Anyone with information regarding Foster’s whereabouts was asked to contact the Innisfail RCMP detachment at 403-227-3342.
Anyone who saw Foster was cautioned not approach him. Call 911, RCMP directed.
