INNISFAIL - RCMP continue to advise against non-essential travel on Highway 2 Friday morning after snowfall Thursday has contributed to poor conditions on area roads, leading to numerous vehicles in ditches and jack-knifed semis.

At 6:15 a.m. Friday, 511 Alberta advised that on the northbound lanes of Highway 2 at Highway 27 east of Olds, there is a jack-knifed semi in the median partially blocking lanes. Traffic is advised to stay to the right.

Minutes before that advisory, there are reports of jack-knifed semis northbound on Highway 2 near Penhold blocking the exit ramp to Highway 42. Travellers are advised to use an alternate route.

At 6:43 a.m. 511 Alberta reported that in the southbound lanes of Highway 2 at Highway 582 east of Didsbury, two jack-knifed semis are blocking the highway. Shortly after 8 a.m. it has been reported that the semis have been moved to the shoulder.
