The Innisfail & District Historical Village has fallen prey to vandals two weekends in a row, forcing the museum to continue costly and ongoing improvements to security.
The village was first struck by late evening or early morning vandals on the weekend of June 11 and 12.
It is believed the culprits gained entry at the west end of the site. They broke into the garage, grabbed a tool and attempted to gain entry into the Heritage Room of the main office building.
However, the vandals appeared to be unsuccessful and opted instead to smash the window and gain entry by grabbing the door handle.
This set off the alarm and the culprits fled the scene.
On the following weekend of June 18 and 19, the village was struck again.
