The Junior 2 Yettis Lacrosse team finished its sixth game of the season Sunday night in Red Deer, playing against the Cranbrook Elite.
This past weekend the Yettis tied the Red Deer Revenge 11-11 in a home game Saturday night. Sunday they lost against the Cranbrook Elite, 22 to 14.
The team of 21 players started the season with a home opener last month. So far they've won two, lost two and tied two games.
“We have a couple of players who are on the fence but otherwise we have a good group of players,” said head coach Tim Schmidt last week.
All but two of the players are returning from last year. “This year we lost our two best scorers,” he said of the two players who have moved on.
The group last year finished fifth in league and are working this season to get into playoffs. “We missed our chance by one game last year.
“It's nice to get fans in the stands,” said Schmidt, who encourages the public to come to their next home game June 16.
