INNISFAIL – An Innisfail man charged with manslaughter in connection to a local street death last month has been released on bail. Malcolm “Nathan” Bourgeois, 41, was scheduled to make his second court appearance on May 15 but it was adjourned.

Victoria Day is officially celebrated on the Monday closest to May 24. That is the day that was declared in 1901 by the Canadian government, to honour Queen Victoria following her passing. It usually falls on the third Monday in May.

Members of the Innisfail Garden Club joined local gardeners for a recent work bee at the Innisfail Community Garden. Mid-May is typically the time of year when gardeners prepare gardens and plant seeds for the growing season.

Royal watchers and residents of Innisfail and surrounding communities gathered at the Innisfail and District Historical Village on May 11 to celebrate the birth of a new royal baby. They welcomed the news by holding a Royal Baby Tea.
