As Jasperites start entering their devastated town, many services will be either not available or only partially restored.
Below is an overview of what will be available tomorrow. Please note, this may not be an exhaustive list.

High priority questions about re-entry will be answered on the municipal website and updated daily.
Emergency services
Parks Canada confirmed residents will have access to all emergency services starting Friday (Aug. 16).
These include the fire department, the RCMP detachment and 911 service.
The emergency department at the Seton-Jasper Healthcare Centre reopened Thursday (Aug. 15) at 9 a.m.
EMS remains available to the community and will transport patients to nearby facilities as needed.
Health-care services
Alberta Health Services warned that no additional services were re-opening in the hospital at this time, and all inpatient admissions are temporarily paused.
All appointments with laboratory services, diagnostic imaging, mental health and public health in Jasper continue to be postponed.
AHS will contact clients directly to reschedule as soon as possible.
Home-care clients impacted have been contacted to arrange for alternative home visits and support from nursing teams.
Cottage Medical Clinic has stated they will be available beginning Friday, Aug. 23 at Seton Hospital.
Gas and electricity
Power has been restored to most residential customers within the town but not to customers at Lake Edith, outlying commercial accommodations and industrial locations within and outside Jasper.
Gas has been partially restored, and ATCO is working to restore gas to more customers.
Gas meters have been turned off, and residents are asked not to remove this lock themselves.
Residents will be given an ATCO placard to visibly place in front of their house, which will let ATCO know to drop by to restart the gas.
According to the Municipality of Jasper, residents should assume all perishables are no longer fit for consumption, and they can check the status of their electricity and gas on ATCO’s map.
Boil Water Advisory
A boil water advisory is in effect for certain areas of the town. The municipality says it will provide a map and specific instructions related to the advisory before re-entry.
Critical businesses
Parks Canada confirmed the following critical businesses would be open:
- Petro Canada – 300 Connaught Dr.
- Shell Canada – 638 Connaught Dr.
- The Grocery People (TGP) – 601 Patricia St.
- Mettra Pharmacy – 600 Patricia St.
- Pharmasave – 616 Patricia St.
- ATB Financial – 404 Patricia St.
- Servus Credit Union – 308 Connaught Dr.
Anyone choosing to stay overnight is asked to bring essential supplies to last at least 72 hours, including food, drinking water and medication.
Re-Entry Support Centre
A re-entry support centre will be at Commemoration Park (1324 Pyramid Lake Rd.) and open daily starting Aug. 16 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The centre will have resources and information on mental health, utilities, internet, insurance, Alberta government and Red Cross supports.
There will also be representation from Alberta Health Services, Parks Canada, and Community Futures West Yellowhead.
Agency representatives will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and coffee will be ready at 7 a.m.
