TORONTO — Canadian singers Jann Arden, Anne Murray and Justin Bieber will appear in next month's Juno Awards broadcast.
Organizers say Arden will perform from her hometown at Calgary's Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, during the June 6 show.
Murray will induct Arden into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the event, which will celebrate Canadian music and air nationwide on CBC TV and multiple CBC platforms.
Bieber, who has five Juno nominations this year, will also perform.
Arden was supposed to be inducted at a Junos bash originally planned for March 2020, but the in-person event in Saskatoon was cancelled at the last minute when the COVID-19 pandemic emerged.
An online presentation of the 2020 Junos aired last June on CBC Gem instead.
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has had to postpone this year's 50th annual Junos show twice because of a third wave of COVID-19 in Ontario.
The show was originally planned as a splashy golden anniversary celebration at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena.
Instead, CARAS and producer Insight Productions have had to shoot performances remotely with COVID-19 protocols in artists' respective cities in Canada and the United States.
Previously announced performers for the show include Canadian rock legends the Tragically Hip and singer-songwriter Feist, who will play together.
The Tragically Hip will also receive the 2021 Humanitarian Award, presented by rock greats Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush, during the show.
