An organizer of Faith Fest, a gospel music festival held June 16 at the Cow Palace, was a huge success, according to organizer Andrea Hawiuk, who co-hosted the event, along with Wayne McCrackin of the Potter’s Clay Quartet.

"(It was) wonderful. Just absolutely wonderful," Hawiuk said during an interview with the Albertan. "I just think it was a huge success; like way better than I ever would dream that it would have been."

Hawiuk estimates more than 500 people came out for the event, presented by the Moonbeams & Miracles organization.

Hawiuk was asked if she plans to hold Faith Fest again next year. She says she's considering doing so, but is not certain yet if she will.

"I've certainly had a lot of people want it next year," she said. "And the artists, they would love to come back and do it again. They said, 'boy, I tell you, that place is full of spirit, that's for sure.'"

"People love gospel music," Hawiuk said, noting some people in the audience -- like a couple from Carstairs --became quite emotional.

"They were in tears, they liked it so much," she said.
