DIDSBURY - Dinner theatre is returning to Didsbury as the Mountain View Theatre Project puts on its rendition of It's a Scream, a funny horror comedy play.
The play is about a star of horror films who attempts to scare the film studio head out of his wits in order to get a big contract and creative control.
The show runs Dec. 1 and 15 at the Elks Hall in Didsbury with dinner at 7 p.m. followed by the play at around 8 p.m.
Starring in It's a Scream are Karson Dussault, Terry Whittiker, Gary Edwards, Nicole Dussault and Sydnie Gilbert, while Tony Sylvestre is the director.
"This is our second season," said Sylvestre. "Last year we did Killed to Death, a murder mystery. This year we're doing a kind of comedy horror. It's very well written. There are some scares and some laughs as well as some great sound effects."
Sylvestre said they have a person, Rachel Gilbert, working with them who has extensive set design experience.
"She'll be doing all the props, so yeah, it should be good," he said.
Tickets for the show are available at Gil's Truck and Auto in Didsbury.
"Theresa McNeil is catering," he said. "She always does a great job. (Central Alberta) Ride for Dad gets $2 for every ticket sold. They also get the proceeds from the bar. They did really well last year. It's a really good charity."
The group will also be performing the play at Westcott Hall on Nov. 30 and Feb. 2.
