CARSTAIRS - A number of Alberta authors will be speaking at the Carstairs Public Library on April 7 from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
Featured will be Victoria Chatham, author of Banff Bride and His Ocean Vixen; Elsie Archer, author of Behind the Moon; Elesa Willies, author of Footsteps and Whispers and The Dawn's Heart; and Tatie Punkinhead, author of Plunger Mania.
Joanne Merrick, library manager, said it's going to be a good time for everyone to come out and meet a number of authors from the area.
"We're getting in a kind of travelling book display that our regional library system (Parkland) has put together," said Merrick. "It's all Alberta authors. We're having a few that live in the area come in on April 7 and talk about their book. We have authors of children's books and they'll probably read to the children and their families."
Merrick said all the authors will be around at the session to talk about their books and their writing process.
The display of Alberta authors will be in the library from April 4 to 18.
"We thought it would be an ideal time to invite local authors to come," she said. "We're hoping some authors we weren't able to reach would come out and network with other authors. The ones that are coming to do a presentation. We have a lot of great authors in this area, which is nice. We'll have refreshments and people will have a chance to speak with the authors."
