A benefit dance for local injured Humboldt Broncos player Graysen Cameron and members of the Olds and District Special Olympics (ODSO) was a success, an organizer says.

The event, held May 5 by the Fun-raisers at the Evergreen Centre, raised a total $3,036.50, which will be split evenly between Cameron and ODSO. The evening featured dancing, singing and yodelling. A silent auction was also held. Door prizes were presented too.

"It went over very well. We had great attendance and people were just as pleased as punch," says Penny Marks, a member of the Fun-raisers.

Cheques will be presented to Cameron and ODSO representatives at another date.
