Bruce Beattie has been reappointed reeve of Mountain View County.

During the Oct. 22 organizational meeting, councillors voted unanimously to return Beattie to the position for a fourth time.

As reeve, Beattie is the official spokesperson for the municipality, as well as the chair of council meetings and a member of all council committees.

"I guess the council is OK with me serving in that capacity and I'm certainly proud to lead a group such as this. They are a great group to work with and our staff is a great group to work with. It's a privilege to be in that position for sure,î said Beattie, the councillor for Division 4.

Division 2 councillor Patricia McKean was reappointed as deputy reeve during the same Oct. 22 organizational meeting.

She chairs the policies and priorities committee meeting and serves the function of reeve when Beattie is not able to do so.

In 2014, the reeve receives $51,371.49 in base pay, the deputy reeve $32,900.92, and the other councillors $27,462.75 each. The per diem rate for all councillors is $241.78 per day.
