More than 70 people attended the 2nd annual “Make A Joyful Noise” carol sing on Dec. 18 at the Water Valley Church Events Centre – with the food bank benefitting from guest generosity.

“We were so happy to see everyone out for our 2nd annual carol sing,” said event organizer and centre owner Kristine Sarsons. “It was a full house. It was great to see lots of kids enjoying the hot chocolate bar and cookies.

“We had performances of special Christmas story readings and a traditional German carol to add to the festive evening. Once again, Dave and Joan Sarsons led the carols with great voices and fantastic piano playing.”

The horse drawn wagon rides were provided by Wes, Gail and Shelby Cummings, with Carol and Morley Shumski from the Water Valley General Store donating treats, she said.

“Many bags of food items and cash donations were generously given by the community to the Mountain View Food Bank,” she said.
