Carstairs rodeo cowboy Kyle Lucas finished second overall in tie down roping at the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Red Deer from Oct. 30 to Nov. 4.
Over six rounds he had times of 8.7, 8.5, 8.4, 7.9, 8.0 and 9.2 for an overall time of 50.7/6. His CFR earnings were $25,920.
Didsbury's Morgan Grant finished ninth with times of 8.8, 10.6, 8.3, 8.1. He had two no times. Shane Hanchey took first place.
Bowden’s Ky Marshall finished fourth in bareback with an overall score of 502.50/6 over six rounds. During the competition he had scores of 83.00, 83.25, 86.75, 83.25, 84.50 and 81.75. His total earnings at the CFR were $20,790.
Sundre’s Mason Helmeczi won the novice bareback title.
