A Carstairs Hugh Sutherland School teacher facing charges of sexual assault and sexual interference has been suspended, according to Chinook's Edge School Division superintendent Kurt Sacher.
Henry John Paulgaard, 54, was charged after police received a complaint on March 11 concerning an alleged sexual assault, says RCMP Const. Mike Hibbs.
The accused has been released on a promise to appear in Didsbury provincial court on March 25.
Sacher declined to say how long Paulgaard has been teaching at the school or what subjects he taught.
