The board of trustees approved changes to the traditional Red Deer Regional Catholic Schools calendar for both the Olds and Rocky Mountain House catchment areas at its regular meeting on April 3.In the Olds area, the changes were made to coincide with changes recently made to the Chinook's Edge School Division calendar that will see students in both divisions in the Olds area having the week following Family Day off for the next two years while students at Holy Trinity School will also have the same spring break in April as CESD students for the next two years as well.According to Paul Stewart, associate superintendent of personnel with RDRCS, the changes were made at the behest of Alberta Education, to have more cooperation between divisions like CESD and RDRCS that run buses in overlapping areas to share resources.While aligned calendars help both the divisions to share resources, the changes also help families who may have students in both divisions, Stewart said.
