For anyone not digging the cold weather, I might suggest a trip to somewhere warm like Aruba or Jamaica or Spain. Or how about heated gloves, boots and jackets? Maybe a portable heater you can carry in your backpack. Or a time machine to travel ahead to the spring when it's nice and warm. Failing that, you should at least be warm so maybe a nice, furry blanket.

For hockey fans, there is always Flames tickets. The Flames are improved and are battling for an oh-so-elusive playoff spot. Come check out young guns like Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett.

Music lovers are pretty easy to please. Just grab an iTunes card or Google Play card and they can pick up the tunes they like whether they prefer Justin Bieber or Justin Timberlake or Keith Urban.

Perhaps you want to spend a bit more. There's wireless headphones—great for listening to music or the TV or gaming. For people with roommates, it could be a lifesaver. Along those lines, wireless chargers may be another great gift. Who has time to plug things in any more? Or how about a selfie stick? You know you want to take a selfie. With the selfie stick you can get the whole crew in the picture.

For the younger set, Hatchimals are this year's pet rock/Tamagotchi. Good luck finding one without paying two months' salary. They're rarer than a Donald Trump fan in Canada.
