Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills MLA Nathan Cooper has been acclaimed as his party’s candidate in the riding for the 2019 election.

Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills MLA Nathan Cooper has been acclaimed as his party’s candidate in the riding for the 2019 election.

A first-term MLA, Cooper has served as his party’s interim leader and as his party’s critic for community and social services and democracy and accountability.

In a press release, UCP Leader Jason Kenney said Cooper has served his constituents very well since being elected three years ago.

“Nathan has served his constituents well over the past three years and has been a valuable member of our team both inside and outside the legislature,” said Kenney.

“Nathan’s strong work ethic and deep commitment to public service is evident in his work.”

Jason Nixon, the UCP MLA for Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre, has also been acclaimed as his party’s candidate in the next provincial election.

Both Nixon and Cooper were elected as Wildrose MLAs in the 2015 provincial election, which saw Rachel Notley’s NDP win a majority.

A date for the 2019 provincial election has not been set.
