CREMONA – The Village of Cremona council has accepted a number of reports from boards, committees and commissions. The move came during the recent regularly scheduled council meeting.

The Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) report stated that a logic model workshop will be hosted by FCSS on May 22.

“A logic model helps groups with their ‘elevator speech.' This is what we’d like to do, these are the steps we need to take, and this is the end result. It is very helpful in grant writing and in obtaining support. It will be offered free and FCSS will supply lunch.”

FCSS officials also said they hope to be involved in an upcoming community event.

“The Cremona School will be hosting a Discovery Night, and FCSS will request a table at the event to promote coming events, summer fun and to be accessible to anyone needing help or that has a suggestion for the program.”

The coordinator's report stated, in part, that, “We had some interest in the Helping Hands program, signed up one more for the Snow Angels program, met with a lady that may be interested in bringing a couple of programs to Cremona, as well as worked on the SHARP program and special needs programs with a local senior.”

The Cremona Municipal Library report stated that there has been training taking place in recent weeks.

“Employees have taken the new Polaris library management system training. The Parkland computer system was inaccessible during the transition (up to March 13) but the library remained open during that time with the employees tracking activity on paper to be put into the computer system when it is available.

“Signs have been posted in the library regarding the facility’s unattended children policy.”
