Mountain View County council has given first reading to re-designation bylaws and set hearing dates for the proposed changes. The move came by way of motion at the recent regularly scheduled council meeting.
Bylaw No. LU 04/09 calls for re-designation of lands within SE 31-32-2-5 in the Westerdale rural neighbourhood.
The proposal is to change the designation from agricultural district to country residential district.
The purpose of the re-designation is to create a residential parcel for a family member to develop, council heard.
The existing parcel size totals 158.9 acres and involves the re-designation of 0.95 acres.
The hearing date was set for March 13 in council chambers.
Bylaw No. LU 06/19 calls for the re-designation of lands within SE 34-33-1-5.
The proposal is to change the designation of 10.9 acres from agricultural district to residential farmstead district and re-designate 42.80 acres from agricultural district to agricultural district A2.
The purpose of the re-designation is to create a farmstead parcel on a fragmented lot. The existing parcel size is 53 acres.

Bylaw No. LU 07/19 calls for the re-designation of lands within the SE 8-34-5-5 in the James River rural neighbourhood.
The purpose of the re-designation is to create a new agricultural parcel for a family member. The existing parcel is 149.7 acres.

The purpose of the re-designation is to create a second parcel out for a family member. The existing parcel is 145 acres.
