Citing recent moisture and new ground plant growth, Mountain View County has lifted a partial fire ban put in place last week, officials said Friday.
“The public is urged to exercise extreme caution while burning, and use precautionary measures such as screens and spark arrestors on burning barrels, cultivated areas surrounding controlled burns and have a supply of water readily available at all times,” said CAO Jeff Holmes.
“Ensure that campfires are always attended, and fully extinguished when leaving a site.”
Fire permits can be obtained at the county’s website or at the county office.
