County passes lodge bylaws

Mountain View County councillors have given final reading to two bylaws related to the county's portion of funding for the new Sundre seniors lodge.

Mountain View County councillors have given final reading to two bylaws related to the county's portion of funding for the new Sundre seniors lodge.

During the July 9 regularly scheduled council meeting, councillors passed one bylaw allowing the county to borrow $1,252,000 for the purpose of lending the money to the Mountain View Seniors' Housing.

The money will borrowed through the Alberta Capital Finance Authority and will be used to help finance the 2014 purchase of land for the construction of the lodge in southwest Sundre.

In a second related bylaw, councillors passed a bylaw allowing the municipality to lend the $1,252,000 to Mountain View Seniors' Housing.

Both bylaws passed first motion in June, followed by a 30-day advertisement and public comment period.

Reeve Bruce Beattie, who is chairman of the MVSH board, says there were no comments received during that time.
