OLDS - The CPKC Holiday Train finishes off its central Alberta run Friday with stops in Innisfail, Olds, Didsbury and Airdrie.
Each year, the illuminated train travels across CPKC’s network spreading holiday cheer and raising donations to help people struggling with food insecurity.
Each Dec. 13 stop features entertainment by Magic! and Sofia Camara as well as a cheque presentation to area food banks.
Community members and those attending the events are encouraged to make donations to their local food banks leading up to and at the event.
On Friday, Dec. 13, the train is expected to be in Innisfail from 12:55 to 1:25 p.m.at the 50th Street crossing.
It is then expected to arrive in Olds at the 50th Street crossing at 2:30 p.m., departing at 3 p.m.
Officials then expect the train to arrive in Didsbury at 3:45 p.m. at 20th Street and 18th Avenue and depart at 4:15 p.m.
The last stop of the day will be Airdrie, scheduled for 5:30 – 6 p.m. with the train continuing on to other southern Alberta locations Saturday and Sunday.
