Howdy y'all from Cremona 4-H! We are shining up our belt buckles and oiling up our cowboy boots for another amazing 4-H year.
For 2018-19, we have 42 youth in our multi-club. As members, we can choose from projects like canine agility, sheep, beef, welding and horsemanship.
The Cremona 4-H-ers are active in the community. On Saturday, Nov. 17, all of the members and their families hopped into their trucks and travelled to farms in the area to collect car, truck and tractor tires for recycling.
We stuffed horse trailers, stock trailers, truck boxes and flat beds like thanksgiving turkeys with over 1,500 old tires. Old car batteries and a myriad of electronic items were collected as well.
Throughout the day on Dec. 1, we all went to the Cremona School and watched local kids so their parents could Christmas shop at the community fair.
The members set up activities like bingo, crafts, colouring and even a balloon pit. An artist made animals from balloons -- everything from goats to giraffes. I am not sure who enjoyed the day more, the children or us.
We look forward to a marvellous year working on our projects and in the community. Cremona 4-H members truly “learn to do by doing.”
